Dear people of Carson City,
Food for Thought: Consider a hungry child whose only reliable meals on the days school is not in session are the items in the bag she receives from Food for Thought on Fridays.
What would those meals consist of? Residential hotels might have a microwave in the rooms – or at least in the lobby. Other children might be living in their parents’ cars or be homeless. Providing the right kind of food items is just as important as providing the food itself.
Food for Thought needs individual servings of shelf stable food to accomplish their mission to provide food to the chronically hungry school children in our area. You can help and St. Peter’s is making it easy for you.
There will be a bin in the parish hall to collect your donations of non-expired food such as microwavable macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, or spaghetti; individually wrapped crackers or trail mix or beef jerky; vegetable and fruit cups; juice boxes. Thank you for your generosity.
Thank you!
