Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday Services   There will be two services at St. Peter’s Church this Wednesday for the imposition of ashes.   For those who wish to come in before work or start your day at St. Peter’s, come to the sanctuary at 7:30 A.M.   In lieu of the Wednesday Healing Eucharist, the day-time Ash Wednesday service takes place in the sanctuary at 10:00 A.M.

Food for thought

Dear people of Carson City, Food for Thought: Consider a hungry child whose only reliable meals on the days school is not in session are the items in the bag she receives from Food for Thought on Fridays. What would those meals consist of? Residential hotels might have a microwave in the rooms – or at least in the lobby. Other children might be living in their parents’ cars or be homeless. Dear people of St Peter’s, The Northwest Mission District Mass on the Grass and Picnic is 10am this Sunday May 22nd at Bartley Ranch Park (6000 Bartley Ranch Rd, Reno, NV 89511) Plaza Pavilion.  There are four pavilions in the park. History arrives

A long awaited project for St. Peter’s has reached completion. An official historical marker now sets out the details of our Rectory, the residence of the first Nevada State Governor. It took the persistent efforts of a trio of parishioners to “bring it home.” Hallie Murphy secured the donation of the stone building blocks. Gayle Bowers persuaded a donation of the masonry work to put it together. Marilyn Peshek persisted in tracking down and securing the plaque itself, long ago…
