Wishlist – How you can help today

Listed below are the most current needs, urgent openings, and lofty dreams that St. Peter’s has for time, tithe, or talent. Some of them are one-time gifts and others are ongoing volunteer commitments. It is a bit of a service buffet.

If you find yourself wondering how you can get involved today, please check back here to see what the Vestry has identified as our most emergent needs. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact a member of the Vestry or clergy.

TIME

UTO coordinator – Twice annually we do an in-gathering for United Thank Offering, once in the Spring, and once in the Fall. This position requires approximately 10 hours per year (5 in Spring, 5 in Fall) to coordinate the in-gathering dates with clergy, arrange the communications, make announcements at church, order supplies if needed, and communicate with the Treasurer about the transfer of funds to UTO.

Outdoor lighting angel – Our Junior Warden is looking for a volunteer to work with him on care and maintenance of our new beautiful outdoor lighting. The time commitment is as needed and will involve occasionally walking the property to make sure the lights are functional and coordination with the Jr. Warden and light installers to make repairs and replacements as needed.

TALENT

Finance Committee member / secretary – We have just one opening left on our finance committee. The secretary takes notes during the meeting, provides minutes from each meeting to the Treasurer or committee Chair prior to the meeting. The committee is responsible for having oversight of the finances of the church and making recommendations to the Vestry. They also oversee our investment accounts. Finance committee members should have a base understanding of financial reports such as profit and loss statements, and balance sheet. The committee meets once per month on the 4th Tuesday. The meetings are generally less than one hour. Time commitment is typically less than 5 hours per month.

TITHE

Amazon Shopping – While you are doing your Amazon shopping, you can peek at our wish list and see if there are a few things you may wish to add to your cart. It ships directly to the church and is easy as one-click shopping. Just click here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2VYT46JOCFVWO?ref_=wl_share

House – Yes, this is a BIG ask, but if we don’t ask, it certainly won’t ever happen. If you have a house and no one to leave it to, or you know someone who has a house they would be willing to donate to St. Peter’s it could become an incredible resource for the church. It could become a source of rental income, or it could become a Rectory, solving the lack of housing for our future clergy long into the future.

Legacy planning – If you are doing estate planning, we ask you to consider St. Peter’s in your final wishes. This can be in the form of a life insurance policy that names St. Peter’s as beneficiary, or naming St. Peter’s as a direct beneficiary in your estate. Your gift will live on in the joyful community of the generations to come.
