Adult Education Forum / SCRIPTURE STUDY

The aim of the Forum is to help parishioners deepen their understanding of the Christian faith and how that faith is relevant in a difficult and uncertain world.  The Forum can take many forms: a lecture/presentation by a renowned guest speaker, a round-table moderated by a member of St. Peter’s clergy, or perhaps a discussion led by a group of parishioners.  Although the number of parishioners who participate regularly is strong and growing, the Forum retains the intimacy of a small discussion group.

Knitter’s Group

This group comes together to knit prayer shawls and twiddle muffs, to be something tangible to comfort those who are sick or in need. No experience needed. We will teach you! The group meets monthly on the 1st Saturday at 9:30 am in the church library.

Sophia’s Salon Reading Group

Sophia’s (from the Greek “wisdom”) Salon reading group meets at a member’s home the fourth Friday of each month from 5:45 pm to 8:30 pm, beginning with a shared meal. Each yearly schedule offers an eclectic collection of titles, which may include classic or contemporary fiction, non-fiction, biography, memoir, and even poetry.

Members may – but need not – volunteer to lead. Discussions are engaging, lively, wide-ranging and frequently travel into topics merely inspired by the particular book. Our objectives are rich fellowship, enhanced appreciation of the world beyond ourselves, and fun. For further information, please contact the Church Office.

Mary~Martha Guild

The Fall of 2013 witnessed the creation of a women’s guild that combines spiritual formation through experiencing the ancient Wisdom tradition with a willingness to be of service to St. Peter’s and the wider community.  We are delighted to watch the synergy (and laughter) that results when we combine study with service.  Mary~ Martha Guild meetings are held in the Parish Hall from 5:30 to 7 pm on the second Thursday of each month.  All women of St. Peter’s are welcome, as are their friends.

The Order of Daughters of the King (D.O.K.) Grace Chapter

Members of The Order of the Daughters of the King® are women and girls who desire a closer walk with the Lord. We are Christian women, both lay and ordained, who are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life and supported through the companionship of our sisters. We are all at different stages of our Christian journey – some have just begun, and some have been on this path for a long time. But no matter where we are on our sacred journeys, our primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others. Vision Statement of The Order Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.
