All members of St. Peter’s are invited and encouraged to serve in a lay capacity. This can take many forms, from reading prayers of the people or the lessons during the services, to assisting the Rector and Deacon at the altar, and to delivering the Eucharist to those that cannot attend church in person.
Join Fr. Michael for a special day of training to learn which of these lay ministries may be right for you.
The ministry of the laity is “to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be; and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church” (BCP, p. 855).
